ZERO Prostate Cancer Summit 2024

ALEXANDRIA, VA, February 25.-27. – ZERO Prostate Cancer held its annual summit in Alexandria, VA. Our very own Paul Lawson, Director of  Regulatory, Quality, and Engineering attended the summit.

An important part of the summit was a legislative advocacy session on Tuesday during which Paul advocated three legislative priorities:

1. Protecting and growing Federal Funding for Prostate Cancer Research

2. Elimination of PSA copays for high-risk ken

3. Creation of a federal coordinating committee for prostate cancer research

The World Health Organization (IARC) estimates that the yearly incidence of prostate cancer will see a near 30% increase from 256,000 in 2022 to 332,000 in the year 2045 in North America. Even more worrisome is an almost doubling of the annual mortality from 39,600 to 78,100 in the same time frame.
