DxTx Medical introduces the Pro-Tx Endorectal Balloon in the USA and Europe

DxTx receives FDA clearance and CE mark to start commercialization of the Pro-Tx Endorectal Balloon in the USA and Europe

With the Pro-Tx Endorectal Balloon we are adding another product line to our portfolio that will help close a gap on the care continuum of prostate cancer patients.

Pro-Tx is designed to stabilize the rectal wall and adjacent structures in the male human anatomy and to assist in the positioning of the prostate in a more predictable and reproducible location during radiation therapy. Pro-Tx can be used during all phases of radiation therapy, including treatment planning, image verification, and radiation delivery.

Endorectal balloons have been shown to significantly reduce intra-fraction motion thereby producing clinically relevant rectal sparing effect. The potential to reduce intermediate to high dose delivery to the rectum and surrounding tissue has beneficial impact on acute and late anorectal toxicity.

Pro-Tx’ soft, pliable balloon material and flexible shaft allow rapid and consistent deployment and ensure that the device is well tolerated by patients in daily treatment throughout an entire course of radiation therapy.
